Do you love kids? Are you someone that loves the water and is eager to share your love of the water with others? Would you like to have fun while making good money? Would you like a stress-free environment? Worden Aquatics is the place for you!

We're looking for seasonal and long-term private swim lesson instructors and seasonal swim team coaches for our non-competitive swim teams. Starting pay can range between $16 to $30 per hour, depending on experience. We provide a FREE WSI instructor course through The American Red Cross, and we pay you as you shadow one of our seasoned instructors.

Did We Mention That We Provide a FREE Instructor Course?

We provide a FREE Instructor course comparable to the American Red Cross WSI (Water Safety Instructor) course. Our instructor course is a two-day course broken up into instruction sessions and in-person pool sessions. There is no cost for this course. 

The only prerequisites for our instructor course are:

  • be at least 16 years of age;

  • and you must be able to swim 25 yards of front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke. If you are rusty on the aforementioned strokes, we will happily work with you and get you where you need to be to qualify for the WSI course.

Note - Those applying for swim team coach positions are not required to take our instructor course, nor do those with a WSI certificate or years of swim lesson instruction experience.

  • Did we mention that all of our swim lessons are one-on-one private lessons? No group lessons! Think of us as the personal trainers of the aquatic world. There are no lesson plans to follow. You personalize every lesson to the swimmer and their needs.

Some of our instructors work forty hours a week, while others only work five hours a week. We will determine the best workflow and scheduling model for you during the hiring process.

Private Swim Lesson Instructor (Seasonal)

This is a 1099 subcontractor position, which means we do not take taxes out.
Pay: Between $16 and $30 per hour depending on experience
Hours: 5 - 40 hours a week

Our Private Swim Lesson Instructors either teach at one of our pools (Boost FitClub/Nashville or Williams Park/Spring Hill) or teach at one of our community partners pools (The Governors Club, The Grove, Bridgemore Village, Tollgate Village), or teach at backyard pools (Destination Lessons) throughout the greater Nashville area. Our Destination* instructors drive to clients' homes and teach in their backyard pools and make more money to help cover mileage and fuel. *Destination instructors have to use their own vehicles.

The Responsibilities of our seasonal instructors include:

  • one-on-one private swim lessons instruction for child and/or adult clients;

  • ensuring safety protocols for yourself and all swim lessons clients;

  • engaging with parents as needed to keep them informed on their child's progress;

  • being able to attend all training and shadowing sessions;

  • and being able to work independently with energy and enthusiasm.

Qualifications of our seasonal instructors:

  • must be 16 years of age or older;

  • must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation;

  • must be able to pass a background check;

  • experience in teaching swim lessons or coaching swim teams a plus but not required;

  • Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications a plus but not required;

  • and must attend our WAC course, or be up-to-date on your WSI certification, or have years of swim lessons teaching experience.


Current Open Positions: Non-Competitive Swim Team Coach (Seasonal)

Non-Competitive Swim Team Coach (Seasonal)

This is a 1099 subcontractor position, which means we do not take taxes out.
Pay: $18 Per Hour
Hours: Between 8 and 14 hr per week
Duration: 8 weeks (June 5th - July 28th), 3 to 5 days a week depending on community and 2 to 2.5 hrs a day.

We offer non-competitive swim teams to luxury communities starting at the beginning of June and ending at the end of July. Our non-competitive swim teams are designed to introduce the sport of swimming to kids ages 4 to 12. These programs are fun, encouraging, and educational for all involved. Our swim teams are very turn-key for you and the parents meaning our office team handles all aspects of scheduling, marketing, and registration. All you have to do is coach and assist our office with communicating with the parents and property management. It is truly an excellent job for the summer.

The Responsibilities of our seasonal swim team coaches include:

  • assessing swim techniques of swimmers and determining their skill levels;

  • educating swimmers on various techniques and styles;

  • overseeing swim team practices;

  • participating in our end-of-year swim meet and awards ceremony;

  • communicating with the property manager and or property staff;

  • getting pool equipment ready for practice;

  • and answering questions that parents might ask.

Qualifications of our seasonal instructors:

  • must be 17 years of age or older;

  • must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation;

  • must be able to pass a background check;

  • experience in teaching swim lessons or coaching swim teams is a plus but not required;

  • being a competitive swimmer is recommended but not required;

  • a positive attitude and strong communication skills;

  • and First Aid training is recommended but not required.
